Kinsella
If you have never heard of American Football, or Cap’n Jazz, or Joan of Arc, or especially Owen, you should go to your record store and buy it. All of it. Except for a couple of pretty bad Joan of Arc albums. But the rest, is great.
Owen is Mike Kinsella’s solo project, and he has a new album coming out called At Home With Owen, and it is really, really good. Normally most Owen albums sound like they were recorded at home - and that was good. So when I read a description of this album, and saw it was recorded in multiple studios, I was a little interested. The songs are long, and most have various parts, but it is really beautiful. I can’t wait to buy it when it comes out in September/October (Yeah, it’s called Fall, it happens every year). One of my favorite songs from the new album is called “A Bird In Hand”, and I have posted it below. If you want more Owen MP3’s, you can always go to Polyvinyl’s website, they have tons of MP3’s.
