To The Stars Through Difficulties
When I find myself getting tired of quieter music, or I am just in the mood for something triumphant and wild and beautiful, I play this song, “Flannery’s Coming Home”, by Ad Astra Per Aspera. They are one of the most creative bands I have heard in a long time, and it makes me proud to say they are from Lawrence, KS.

If you don’t like the first half of this song, you have to wait it out at least until you get to the 2:40 mark. Listen from there, and you’ll see the beautiful melodies of this album start to come out in clear fashion. Catapult Calypso is sure to be regarded as one of the best albums of 2006. The piece as a whole goes all over the place musically, but it isn’t distracting, rather it is impressive. No matter what they are playing, it is completly engaging and exciting, and most importantly, it makes me want to keep listening to it. Please check out this song, and if you like it, please be on the lookout for the album, for it is being released on October 3, 2006.

Oops, my comment was supposed to be on this post, not the prior one.
Hah, I know Flannery, we rode the Amtrak back from St. Louis together one time. You guys should talk to Ashley Miller, he wants to do a show at the Parlor too, and it will rule.

are you trying to make me depressed with that Mountain Goats video you sent me, or did you just really like the song. Don’t get me wrong, I did too.
