Owl Love You All Year
I may or may not have told you guys about this last year, but it is still going on. It is a great idea, perfect for anyone who loves making crafts, or even for people who don’t. Here is a bulletin my friend, and creator of Owl Love You All Year, Abby, wrote:
Hello all!
After a bout of encouragement from Joey, the web-site designer for the project currently located on the web here.
We have decided that it only makes sense to continue Owl Love You All Year. For those of you who never got a chance to send something in for valentine’s day of 2006, this is your chance to send something in that will assure you a funny, endearing, and handcrafted creation by another individual.As for you folks who may have forgotten about us or are new to the project, feel free to read around on the website mentioned above, our Myspace, or to message us specific questions. The project idea is very simple:
You are person A. You send in something to the address for Owl Love You All Year. This will be a handcrafted message from you that you would like someone else floating about in the world to receive. Person B will also mail their creation, allowing us to swap the two entries. Please include the proper amount of postage for your contribution to be sent from Owl Love You All Year to its swapping destination. If you absolutely forget to include the postage, don’t sweat it, we will send it anyway so that someone, somewhere else, may feel warm hearted or giggle at what you’ve made.
Be as creative as you like. Last year we received cards that were embroidered, sewn— beautiful drawings with little dabbles of watercolor, messages on recycled old book covers, and even very simple construction paper creations that included sweet, weird, and funny messages. One entry was even scrawled upon reciept paper with mention of a ‘camel toe.’
Do as you please! We can’t stress this enough. There is no formula to this project, it was simply created to spite Valentine’s Day, the day that typically takes the cake for the ONE love day of the year. Our idea is that warmth, oddities, and love should be given and received all year as humans so require!!
So keep this in mind as February passes— Owl Love You ALL Year is an ALL year project! Send entries in 3 times a week if you are so inclined; we assure you that you will get something back for the sweetness you’ve contributed.
